What started out as a small group of construction friends competing for cash and “bragging rights” 15 years ago, has turned into a tremendously charitable tournament benefiting the Miami-Dade Chapter of Rebuilding Together. Over the past 9 years, the Rebuilding Together Fishing Tournament continues to grow and the expectations keep rising. Last year we had 20 boats entered and donated $34,100, bringing the 9 year total contributions to $124,900. We are always seeking new Sponsors in the $1,000 - $5,000 range to help us exceed the previous year’s donations.
Each Sponsor will have:
Rebuilding Together is a local charity which rehabilitates homes for low-income homeowners, particularly the elderly, veterans, and those with disabilities, which relies completely on volunteers and donations to be successful. Their focus provides critical repairs, accessibility modifications and energy efficient upgrades to low-income homes and community centers at no cost to service recipients. Their impact extends beyond the individuals served, to revitalize and stabilize vulnerable neighborhoods and communities across the country.
Our work positively impacts the condition of the surrounding community as well, through community center rehabilitation, playground builds, and partnerships with organizations focused on energy efficiency, sustainable community gardens, volunteer engagement, and education.
